The Internet listing service got a big moment in the sun on Sunday evening, when its “Moving on Up” ad featuring Jeff Goldblum, Lil Wayne and “The Jeffersons” theme song aired during the Super Bowl. Out of the 63 advertisements shown during the big game, the spot came in at No. 29 in the annual USA Today Ad Meter poll, a highly regarded measurement of public opinion of Super Bowl ads.

While you might not have the budget to create and air a Super Bowl ad, the multifamily industry is certainly no stranger to the production of inventive and highly effective videos. Each year, we honor the abundant creativity of the apartment marketing community with the AIM Video Awards contest.

Last year’s awardees included Lincoln Property Co., the Morgan Group, and for the second year in a row, Alliance Residential and Entrata. Do you have the goods to take home a trophy in this year’s contest and prevent Alliance and Entrata three-peating? That’s right: the deadline for entry in this year’s contest is only a few days away! Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, February 17.

Whether a repeat winner or a first-time entrant, property managers and multifamily owners and operators can submit videos in the following categories (vendors are restricted to the “Best Vendor” category):

  • Best Community Marketing Video
  • Best Brand Marketing Video
  • Best Training Video
  • Best Amateur Video
  • Best Short Form or New Format Video
  • Best Vendor Video

Proceeds from the $20-per-video entry fee will be donated to the Housing Industry Foundation. Finalists and grand winners for each category will be announced at the AIM Video Awards ceremony, to be held at the 2016 AIM Conference, May 2-4 at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, Calif.
